PhD Scholarship in Molecular Pharmaceutics: Uppsala University’s Department of Pharmacy invites applications for a fully funded PhD scholarship in Molecular Pharmaceutics. The successful candidate will be part of an interdisciplinary environment at the forefront of pharmaceutical research and education, with a focus on developing advanced small scale models of the gastrointestinal tract to enable absorption profiling of orally administered drugs.
Designation: PhD Student in Molecular Pharmaceutics
Research Area:
The PhD student will work on developing advanced small scale models of the gastrointestinal tract with the aim of establishing methods and technologies that enable absorption profiling of orally administered drugs. Focus areas include microfluidics, 3D printed prototypes for automated assays, and technologies for measuring processes related to dissolution, release, digestion, and permeation. The project will also involve in silico modeling, validation with formulations and diagnostic tools, and consideration of the microbiome in the segment mimicking the colon.
