Eligibility/Qualification:
- MSc in Space Physics, Physics, Computer Sciences, Geophysics, Mathematics, or related natural sciences
- Experience in processing and analyzing satellite data
- Strong skills in scientific programming and the handling of large datasets
- Advanced knowledge of programming languages: Python, Matlab, IDL, Fortran, C++
- Familiarity with Unix systems
- Demonstrated experience in developing numerical codes
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Job Description:
- Conduct data processing and analysis
- Perform numerical simulations to explore the effects of various loss mechanisms on radiation belt electrons in the Earth’s inner magnetosphere
- Maintain data and code repositories
- Develop scientific visualizations of results
- Document and test existing codes
- Adapt scientific codes for different problems
- Engage in scientific research in the field of space physics
- Attend scientific meetings and present research findings
- Write manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals
- Collaborate with University Braunschweig and IAP within the DFG funded RADIANCE project
