The successful candidate, under the supervision of Dr. Laura Cunningham, will receive a €22,000 annual stipend and academic fees. The role includes lab-based research, mentorship, potential industrial placements, and conference travel opportunities.

Eligibility:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in organic synthesis.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong documentation, oral, and interpersonal skills.
  • At least 2.1 or equivalent BSc or MSc in Chemistry, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Evidence of practical experience in synthetic organic chemistry.
  • Excellent English speaking and writing abilities.
  • Eligible for enrollment in the Structured PhD in Chemistry program at NUI Galway.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of asymmetric catalysis, supramolecular chemistry, evidence of proactivity, strong communication skills, and a willingness to foster a friendly, supportive environment.
