PhD Scholarship in Organic Chemistry: The Technical University of Denmark (DTU) is offering a fully funded 3-year PhD position under the supervision of Associate Professor Søren Kramer. This opportunity is focused on the development of novel methods in organic chemistry, particularly in enantioselective homogeneous catalysis and C-H functionalization.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • A two-year master’s degree (120 ECTS points) or equivalent in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
  • Strong background in experimental organic chemistry is essential.
  • Experience with method development and homogeneous catalysis is an advantage but not a requirement.
  • Must possess strong communication skills in written and spoken English.
  • Candidates should be highly motivated, ambitious, and strive for scientific excellence.

Job Description

The selected candidate will receive intensive training in advanced organic chemistry methods and will work on:

  • Organic synthesis of starting materials and reagents.
  • Development and optimization of novel organic reactions.
  • Investigation of substrate scope, including isolation and characterization of products.
  • Membership in a dynamic research group focused on achieving high-impact results in the field.
