✅ Eligibility / Qualification:

  • Master’s degree (M.Sc. or equivalent) in Chemistry or a closely related field (completed or near completion).
  • Strong background in synthetic inorganic and/or organometallic chemistry.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Inert atmosphere techniques (e.g., Schlenk line, glovebox)
    • Standard characterization tools (NMR, MS, IR, etc.)
  • Prior experience in fluorine chemistry is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent proficiency in English is required; knowledge of German is not.

🧪 Job Description:

The selected candidate will:

  • Design and synthesize novel organoxenon(III) salts with various organic substituents.
  • Evaluate their stability, Lewis acidity, and redox behavior.
  • Investigate reactivity of these species as electrophilic transfer reagents in forming high-valent transition metal complexes.
  • Explore cross-coupling applications and other catalytic roles of these compounds.
  • Work in a highly interdisciplinary and international research environment at the cutting edge of main-group and transition-metal chemistry.
