Description
The PhD project focuses on understanding carbon cycling in Arctic river networks, particularly concerning the production and emission of methane (CH4) and carbon dioxide (CO2). The research will involve the use of novel sensors, remote sensing products, microbial studies, and isotopic analysis to explore how anaerobic carbon cycling influences greenhouse gas dynamics. This project is supported by an ERC Starting grant and will primarily take place at the Abisko Research Station.
How to Apply
Interested candidates should submit their applications through the Umeå University’s recruitment system by including the following documents:
- Short description (max 2 pages) outlining interest in the position
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Copies of certificates from higher education
- Comprehensive list of completed university courses and grades
- Copies of publications or degree thesis
- Contact information for two reference persons
Applications may be submitted in English or Swedish; ensure all documents are in PDF or MS Word format.
