Eligibility/Qualification:
- MSc degree in Physics or Physical Chemistry with outstanding grades
- Background in optics, fluorescence spectroscopy, quantum sensing, single-molecule experiments, and data analysis
- Highly motivated with a curiosity for fundamental questions and method development
- Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and teamwork abilities
- Proficiency in English (speaking & writing)
Job Description:
In this interdisciplinary PhD project, you will:
- Build an optically-detected magnetic resonance (ODMR) spectrometer using advanced equipment
- Detect single particles and photons to develop new fluorescence readouts
- Conduct biocompatible experiments to identify protein molecules and their chemical triggers
- Contribute to the advancement of single-molecule NMR of biomolecules through optical quantum sensing
