The research focuses on the engineering of mammalian cells to improve their metabolic and production capabilities for biotherapeutics through the analysis of single-cell transcriptomic data.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- A minimum of a two-year master’s degree (120 ECTS points) or an equivalent degree with academic standing.
- Relevant experience in mammalian cell culture and standard molecular biology techniques such as cloning and gene editing (CRISPR/RMCE).
- Familiarity with analyzing scRNA-Seq data and scripting languages such as Python is desirable but not essential.
Description:
The selected PhD candidate will be responsible for independently planning, executing, and interpreting scientific experiments focused on engineering mammalian cells for enhanced production capabilities. Key tasks include:
- Utilizing single-cell transcriptomic and product titer measurements to identify transcriptional signatures of productive phenotypes.
- Collaborating within a research group and with external partners.
- Staying updated on scientific literature and the potential entrepreneurial implications of the research.
- Supervising students and presenting findings at scientific conferences and workshops.
