Eligibility / Qualification
- A Master’s degree or equivalent in Physics, Astronomy, or a related discipline
- Strong academic background and interest in theoretical astrophysics or cosmology
Job Description
- Conduct original doctoral research within the Theoretical Astrophysics Group
- Work on fundamental problems related to gravitational interactions and their astrophysical and cosmological applications
- Participate in group research activities alongside postgraduate students and postdoctoral researchers
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress for annual bursary renewal
Scholarship / Funding Details
- Bursary value: R 150,000 per annum
- Duration: Up to 3 years
- Start date: 1 March 2026 (or as soon as possible thereafter)
- Renewal: Subject to satisfactory annual progress
