PhD Scholarship in Wearable Electronics: Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden, invites applications for a fully funded PhD student position in Conducting Polymer Fibers for Wearable Electronics. Eligibility / Qualification

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related discipline
  • Strong experience in polymer processing and characterization, especially solution-processed conjugated polymers
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Strong proficiency in English, both written and spoken

Desirable (Merit-based):

  • Experience in organic electronics and/or fiber spinning techniques

Job Description

The successful candidate will:

  • Conduct independent doctoral research in polymer fibers for wearable electronics
  • Develop and optimize fiber spinning processes for conducting polymers
  • Characterize mechanical properties using techniques such as tensile testing, dynamic mechanical analysis, nanoindentation, and atomic force microscopy
  • Integrate fibers into wearable electronic devices (e.g., fiber-based organic electrochemical transistors)
  • Publish research results in high-impact peer-reviewed journals
  • Present findings at scientific conferences
  • Contribute approximately 10% of working time to departmental duties, primarily undergraduate teaching
  • Collaborate with academic and industrial partners in Sweden and internationally

Contract Terms & Benefits
