Eligibility/Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Complex Systems, Network Science, Data Science, Computational Social Science, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related subjects (2:1 or 1st class essential).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, Julia (essential).
- Fluency in English (spoken and written).
- Highly collaborative spirit, personal initiative, and interest in interdisciplinary teamwork.
- Good communication skills and enthusiasm for applied research.
- Experience in or willingness to learn data visualization techniques.
Job Description
The selected PhD candidate will research the intersection between low-income patient cohorts and chronic metabolic conditions, exploring the social determinants of health and nutrition. The project involves developing a machine learning pipeline to integrate multi-modal data from Electronic Health Records with residence-related SDOH data to classify food insecurity. The research aims to improve healthcare outcomes for vulnerable populations by addressing health inequalities and enhancing healthcare delivery models.
