PhD Scholarship Opportunity: The Fluid Dynamics Technology group at the Institute for Engineering Research of Aragon (I3A), University of Zaragoza, Spain, is offering a fully funded PhD position focused on the modeling and simulation of self-propelled micro/nano robots. This opportunity is part of the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Doctoral Training Network (GREENS project).

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Candidates must have recently obtained or be about to obtain a master’s degree in engineering, physics, or applied mathematics.
- Prior experience with finite element simulations of small-scale multiphysics transport phenomena is advantageous.
- Candidates must be within the first four years of their research career.
- Candidates must not have resided or conducted their main activity in Spain for more than 12 months within the last three years.
- Open to applicants from all nationalities, including non-European countries.
Job Description: The PhD candidate will work on the project titled “Reduced Order Modelling and Design Optimization of Robot Manufacturing and Motility”, with the following key objectives:
- Optimization of Microfluidic Crystallization: Develop computational models to improve crystallization processes in microfluidics, enhancing the quality and efficiency of crystal structures for microrobots.
- Microrobot Motility in Complex Environments: Create advanced models to simulate and optimize microrobot movement within intricate and dynamic environments.
Expected Outcomes:
- Enhanced microfluidic crystallization processes, leading to improved microrobot component fabrication.
- Advanced simulation models to improve microrobot motility control in diverse environmental conditions.
