PhD Scholarship Opportunity at UCLouvain: UCLouvain invites applications for a fully funded PhD position in the research group of Prof. Ludovic Troian-Gautier, as part of a “DfG Weave” research program. The research focuses on developing novel chromophores for anti-dissipative strategies. The candidate will collaborate with Dr. Alejandro Cadranel’s team at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (Germany), including temporary research stays in Germany.

Designation

PhD Researcher

Research Area

Organic and inorganic synthesis, photochemistry, and chromophore development.

Location

UCLouvain, Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, with research stays in Germany.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • Master’s degree in experimental chemistry with a specialization in organic or inorganic synthesis.
  • Minimum grade of “Distinction” (i.e., 3.14/4.00 or equivalent).
  • Strong research background and achievements in the field.

Job Description

The successful candidate will:

  • Participate in a collaborative research program between UCLouvain and Friedrich-Alexander-Universität.
  • Work on the development of novel chromophores that exhibit “anti-Kasha” behavior and excited-state electron transfer properties.
