PhD Scholarship: Investigating Stable Perovskite Solar Cells by Controlling Ion Migration

Designation: PhD Position – Stable Perovskite Solar Cells by Controlling Ion Migration

Research Area: Chemistry, Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Solar Cell Technology

Location: Amsterdam, Noord-Holland

Eligibility/Qualification:
Prospective PhD candidates should hold an MSc degree or equivalent qualification in physics, chemistry, materials science, or engineering. Individuals from underrepresented groups are especially encouraged to apply. A strong background and keen interest in solar cells are essential.

Job Description:
The successful candidate will undertake research to investigate how ion migration impacts the stability and efficiency of perovskite solar cells. This will involve testing hypotheses related to the loss in solar cell efficiency due to mobile ions, conducting measurements of ion motion, and utilizing drift-diffusion simulations to understand ion movement on a microscopic level. The ultimate goal is to predict new materials with reduced ion migration, leading to the development of significantly more stable solar cells.
