Scholarship Description
This scholarship is part of the AgriLoop Horizon Europe research project aimed at improving the recovery of functional molecules from agri-food residues. The PhD project will involve developing innovative microbial-based pre-treatment and fermentation technologies to produce short- and medium-chain carboxylic acids. The position is full-time and fixed-term for initially one year, renewable up to four years, with a competitive salary and benefits.
Eligibility
- A Master’s degree in microbiology, biotechnology, bioscience engineering, or equivalent, completed before the start date of the position.
- Excellent grades in relevant subjects.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience in bio-process engineering, anaerobic microbial cultivation, and various analytical techniques.
- Strong experimental design and data analysis skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English (C1 level).
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and international team.
