Scholarship Description: The Qiu group focuses on conceptualizing new principles of organic reactivity and catalysis, utilizing both experimental and computational approaches. Research themes include systematically modulating intrinsic reactivity, manipulating selectivity using intrinsic reactivity, and developing diagnostic methods for quantum mechanical tunneling in organic reactions. Each project contributes to broader research goals while offering individual insights, and the choice of research topic is flexible to align with students’ interests and career ambitions.
Eligibility: Ideal candidates should possess a Master’s degree in organic or physical chemistry with research experience, a strong foundation in organic and physical chemistry, an explorative mindset for conceptual challenges, and excellent English language and communication skills. Candidates with less relevant experience will not be disadvantaged if they demonstrate strong potential.
