🔍 PhD Scholarship: Process Prediction:

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Eindhoven University of Technology invites applications for a fully-funded PhD position focused on leveraging foundation models for sustainable process prediction. This research explores designing multimodal, reusable machine learning models that remain effective under data label scarcity, contributing to sustainable, real-time process mining solutions.


🧠 Job Description:

As a PhD Fellow, you will:

  • Develop and evaluate multimodal foundation models for real-time sustainable process prediction.
  • Conduct research on continual learning models that mitigate catastrophic forgetting.
  • Investigate transferability and reusability of pre-trained models across various downstream tasks.
  • Collaborate with experts from the TU/e Process Analytics Group and the Technical University of Denmark (TUD), where you’ll spend six months as part of the EuroTech PhD Program.

🎓 Eligibility / Qualification:

Required:

  • (Nearly) completed Master’s degree in AI, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow/Keras).
  • Sound understanding of machine learning concepts and deep learning architectures.
  • Excellent English communication skills (C1 level).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary and international teams.

Preferred:

  • Experience with foundation models (LLMs, Transformers).
  • Knowledge in theoretical machine learning.
  • Familiarity with large-scale computing environments and process mining.

💶 Salary and Benefits:

  • Full-time employment (1.0 FTE) for four years.
  • Monthly salary: € 2,901 – € 3,707 (scale P).
  • Year-end bonus (8.3%) and vacation allowance (8%).
  • Minimum of 10% of time allocated to teaching.
  • Access to excellent research facilities, training programs, childcare services, and relocation support (including 30% tax compensation for international staff).
