PhD Scholarship – Therapeutic RNA Delivery by Extracellular Vesicle Mimetics
Study Area: Therapeutic RNA Delivery by Extracellular Vesicle Mimetics
Location: UMC Utrecht, Heidelberglaan 100, Netherlands
Eligibility/Qualification:
- (Nearly) completed a Master of Science program (MSc) in relevant research areas (pharmacology, drug innovation, or biomedical sciences).
- Experience with molecular biology techniques, tissue culture, and physicochemical characterization of nanoparticles is desired.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, effective communication skills, especially in presenting scientific data.
Description: Explore the revolutionary potential of RNA-based therapeutics in treating genetic diseases. The project focuses on utilizing the endogenous RNA transport system based on extracellular vesicles (EVs) for efficient RNA delivery. EVs, with their unique ability to transfer RNA molecules, inspire the development of EV mimetics. Incorporating EV surface proteins into synthetic RNA delivery systems aims to enhance their efficiency for therapeutic purposes.
