PhD Candidate (m/f/div) – Part-time (67%), Fixed-term for 36 months

Sustainable Nanomaterials, Materials Chemistry, Electronic Device Fabrication, Reuse and Recycling of Functional Materials

IFW Dresden, Campus of Technische Universität Dresden, Germany
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Completed degree in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or a comparable field
- Ideally, experience in:
- Synthesis and characterization of low-dimensional nanomaterials
- Electronic components and recycling of functional materials
- Motivation to conduct innovative research for a sustainable future
- Good written and spoken English skills
Job Description / Main Tasks:
- Chemical synthesis of functional, semiconducting nanomaterials
- Processing of nanomaterials and fabrication of functional layers, heterostructures, and devices (e.g., solar cells, photodetectors)
- Focus on reuse and recycling, developing methods for controlled assembly/disassembly of nanomaterials while preserving their properties
- Spectroscopic, microscopic, structural, and electrical characterization of materials, layers, and devices
