Eligibility & Qualifications

Applicants must meet the admission and scholarship criteria of Monash University:

  • Academic Background: A completed Bachelor’s degree with First-Class Honours (or equivalent) or a Master’s degree by research in a relevant discipline (e.g., Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Metallurgy, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Electrochemistry, or closely related fields).
  • Research Track Record: A demonstrated capacity to conduct independent research; prior scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals are highly advantageous.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in target-driven, collaborative research teams.
  • Exclusions: Candidates who already hold a PhD degree are not eligible.

Scholarship Description & Benefits

  • Financial Support: Full living stipend of $37,145 AUD per annum (tax-free) for up to 3.5 years, along with tuition fee offset/waiver provisions under standard Research Training Program (RTP) conditions.
