Research Area | Insect Reproduction; Nutritional Signals in Insects |
Location | IBE (Institut de Biologia Evolutiva) |
Eligibility/Qualification | Master’s degree in Molecular Biology or related fields; strong interest in molecular biology and bioinformatics. |
Last Date to Apply | 10th of October 2025 |
Research Area
The focus of the research will be on the role of piRNAs in regulating oocyte growth and maturation in insects. The findings are expected to contribute to the development of piRNA-based insecticides that are environmentally friendly and species-specific.
Description
The selected candidate will engage in a combination of wet lab and bioinformatics work. The laboratory experience will include techniques such as real-time PCR, fluorescent microscopy, and RNA interference (RNAi). Additionally, the candidate will analyze transcriptomic libraries to complement their hands-on research.
