PhD Student/Doctoral Candidate: The Institute of Organic Chemistry at the University of Tübingen is seeking a motivated PhD student to join the Fleischer Lab. This position focuses on the development of catalysts for energy release from molecular solar thermal energy storage (MOST) systems. This is a three-year position, with remuneration based on the German TV-L statutory salary scale.

Research Area:

  • Development of new catalytic transformations for organic synthesis.
  • Specific focus on sulfur-containing compounds, defunctionalization reactions, and MOST systems.

Location: University of Tübingen, Germany


  • Strong background in organic chemistry, mechanistic investigations (kinetics), and experience with organometallic chemistry and catalysis.
  • Must hold, or be near completion of, an outstanding Master (or equivalent) degree in chemistry.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills in English.
  • Very good knowledge of organic chemistry.
  • Ability to work safely, independently, and within a team environment.
