Eligibility/Qualification

Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Hold a Master’s (second-cycle) degree in computer science, engineering, data sciences, applied mathematics, machine learning, or a closely related field.
  • Have completed at least 240 credits in higher education, including at least 60 credits at the Master’s level with a substantial independent project.
  • Possess equivalent knowledge acquired through other means.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Strong computational and analytical background.
  • Proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Desired: Knowledge of calculus, linear algebra, optimization, probability theory, and numerical methods; familiarity with Matlab is an advantage.

Description

The candidate will be involved in basic research and methodological development geared towards designing and implementing novel computational models and solutions. The role includes both theoretical study and practical application, including testing developed methods on toy examples and in computer vision applications. The doctoral student is expected to dedicate their time primarily to graduate education with some involvement in teaching assistance and administrative tasks.
