Eligibility/Qualification
- Candidates should be eligible (or pre-admitted) for a PhD program.
- Must possess an official degree of at least 300 ECTS or a relevant master’s degree.
- Foreign students require an official translation of their academic record to Spanish or English, and if their degree is outside the Higher European Education Area, the homologation of their title must be in process.
- Knowledge in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Mathematics is preferred.
- Previous experience with robotics or machine learning is advantageous.
- Fluency in oral and written English is required.
- Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
Job Description
The PhD research will investigate motor skill learning through simulation for tasks such as:
- Catching objects mid-air
- Avoiding falls after sudden slippage
- Executing flying loops and back-flips
The candidate will improve the Borinot robot, an agile limb-augmented flying platform that works on hybrid locomotion.
Contract Details:
- Duration: 4 years (full-time)
- Salary: ~€19,500 gross in the first year, ~€24,400 gross from years 2 to 4.
- Funding: €7,000 for enrollment fees and international research stays.
