Research Area

The research focuses on the function of HCN channels in the heart and TPC and TRPML channels in the endolysosomal system, investigating their roles in diseases like cardiac arrhythmias and lysosomal storage disorders.

Location

The position is based at the Biomedical Center (BMC) on the Martinsried Campus, one of Germany’s premier scientific locations.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • A Master’s degree (or comparable) in pharmacy, biology, biochemistry, medicine, or related natural sciences.
  • Keen interest in patch-clamp techniques, molecular biology, and biochemistry.
  • Practical experience with cell cultures is desirable; willingness to work with preclinical mouse models is required.
  • Proficient in English; knowledge of German is beneficial.
  • Strong organizational and teamwork skills, coupled with a passion for research and teaching.

Description

Successful candidates will be involved in characterizing ion channel functions using various experimental techniques, analyzing data, presenting results, contributing to publications, and participating in teaching activities in Physiology.
