Eligibility/Qualification:
- Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences, Molecular Biology, or a related field
- Experience or a strong interest in molecular microbiology and laboratory techniques, including next-generation sequencing
- Collaborative spirit to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team and with clinical partners
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Additional experience in bioinformatics, bacterial and yeast identification, and AMR detection is highly desirable
Job Description: As a PhD student, you will play a pivotal role in the DRAIGON consortium, focusing on:
- Designing patient inclusion criteria and determining outcome parameters
- Conducting comparative analysis of AMR prediction using sequencing technologies
- Developing an end-to-end workflow for profiling pathogens and detecting AMR
- Collecting and integrating clinical data alongside standard-of-care diagnostics
- Performing in-depth data analysis to compare sequence-based diagnostics with conventional methods
- Identifying and evaluating critical steps affecting time-to-result and workflow efficiency
