PhD Student in Inorganic Chemistry: Stockholm University’s Department of Materials and Environmental Chemistry is seeking a highly motivated individual for a PhD student position in Inorganic Chemistry. Eligibility/Qualification:
- Completed second-cycle degree or equivalent, with at least 240 higher education credits, including 60 credits in the second cycle.
- Strong knowledge in chemistry and physics, demonstrated through coursework, theses, and project work.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Experience in crystallography and MOFs/perovskites/coordination polymers is desirable.
- Motivated, organized, and possesses a problem-solving mindset.
Job Description:
- Synthesize and characterize a range of Prussian blue analogues using X-ray and neutron diffraction.
- Perform structural studies under high pressure and variable temperature conditions.
- Conduct magnetic measurements and local structure studies using advanced techniques, such as pair distribution function studies.
- Collaborate with supervisors and research team members to contribute to the development of new multiferroic materials.
- Engage in research activities at synchrotrons and neutron sources.
- Gain valuable experience in synthesis, crystallography, and material characterization.
