Scholarship Description:

PhD Student in Machine Learning for Information/Communication Technology
The PhD candidate will contribute to the emerging research area of integrated communication and fiber sensing. Responsibilities include developing theoretical models, exploring signal-processing algorithms, and applying machine learning techniques. The project aims to simultaneously support high-speed data transmission and advanced polarization sensing in fiber-optic networks.

Eligibility:

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, applied mathematics, or related fields
  • Strong background in digital communications, machine learning, and mathematics
  • Knowledge of digital communication systems and signal processing
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English
  • Interest in pursuing research, independent thinking, and creativity
  • Desirable: Experience in implementing and simulating communication systems, fiber communication or sensing, and previous research, publication, and teaching experience
