PhD Student in Two-Dimensional Quantum Materials, Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ), Germany

Postdoc in Germany

PhD Student in Two-Dimensional Quantum Materials: Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ) is offering an exciting PhD opportunity focused on exploring the microscopic understanding of magnetic spin textures in innovative two-dimensional materials. This position is part of a collaboration between FZJ and the University of Chemistry and Technology Prague (UCTP) and aims to contribute to next-generation technologies in energy-efficient memory devices and quantum computing.

PhD Student in Magnetic and Structural Properties of Novel Two-Dimensional Quantum Materials

Designation

PhD Student

Research Area

Magnetic spin textures in two-dimensional materials

Location

Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ), Germany, with time spent at the University of Chemistry and Technology Prague (UCTP), Czech Republic.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • A degree allowing enrollment for a PhD (MSc, Master 2 de Recherche, Laurea, or equivalent) in physics, chemistry, or a closely related natural science (e.g., materials science, nanotechnology).
  • Background in electron microscopy or experimental work related to two-dimensional materials is desirable.
  • Knowledge of crystal growth methods and programming/scripting/image analysis is advantageous.
  • Proficient in English (B2 level required; native English speakers or those with degrees conducted in English are exempt).
