Research Area

Theory and methods for non-equilibrium theory and atomistic simulations of complex biomolecules. Potential project areas include:

  • Variational free energy methods

  • Functional mechanisms of the ribosome
  • Functional mechanisms of fatty acid synthase

Eligibility/Qualification

For PhD Students:

  • Hold or expect to complete soon a Master’s or equivalent degree in physics, mathematics, or any related field.
  • Strong skills in computational molecular (bio)physics, statistical mechanics, and scientific computing.
  • Keen interest in interdisciplinary research and collaboration with experimental groups.

For Postdocs:

  • Hold a PhD or equivalent degree in physics, mathematics, or related fields.
  • Strong skills in computational molecular (bio)physics, statistical mechanics, and scientific computing.
  • Keen interest in interdisciplinary research and collaboration with experimental groups.

Position Details:

  • PhD Students: Opportunity to participate in one of several available PhD programs, with three years of funding, in collaboration with the University of Göttingen. Master’s students aiming for a fast-track PhD are also welcome.
  • Postdoc: Position limited to two years, with a possibility of extension.
  • Payment and Benefits: Based on the German Public Service Payscale (TVöD Bund) guidelines.
  • Start Date: As soon as possible, with flexibility.
