Part-time Research Associate/PhD Student – Physiology of Epithelial Sodium Channels

Location: Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences (H-BRS), Rhineland Area

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Degree in natural sciences (Diploma/Master’s degree) in a life sciences subject (biology, biomedicine, or physiology).
  • Specialist knowledge of physiology, especially membrane transport physiology.
  • Experimental experience in molecular biology, protein biochemistry techniques, and physiological techniques for investigating membrane transport processes (e.g., electrophysiology).
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
  • Excellent written and spoken English language skills (comparable to B2 level).

Job Description:

  • Conduct research on the molecular physiology of isoforms of epithelial sodium channels (ENaCs).
  • Utilize molecular biological, protein biochemical, and electrophysiological techniques.
  • Evaluate and present research results, publishing in scientific journals, and presenting at national/international conferences.
  • Support the supervision of students in experimental theses within the research cluster.
  • Develop a scientific profile, potentially through a doctorate via the Promotionskolleg NRW.
