PhD Student Position at ICN2: The ICN2 is seeking a highly motivated candidate for a four-year PhD position focused on “Clip-off Chemistry in Organic Synthesis.” The position offers a unique opportunity to explore the synthesis of organic macrocycles and polymers in a vibrant, international research atmosphere.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Nanochemistry, or Materials Science; Master’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or Nanotechnology.
  • Knowledge and Professional Experience: Proficiency in organic and/or coordination chemistry; experience with porosity measurements.
  • Personal Competences: Fluent in English with excellent communication and writing skills; intrinsic motivation, strong commitment, responsibility, and independence.

Job Description:

The selected candidate will:

  • Design, synthesize, and characterize new reticular materials (COFs).
  • Utilize these materials as precursors for generating new polymers using Clip-off chemistry.
  • Gain extensive experience in supramolecular, reticular, organic chemistry, and nanotechnology.
  • Work with a variety of characterization techniques.
  • Develop their thesis within excellent scientific infrastructures and receive mentorship from the experienced NANOUP team (visit NANOUP for more information).
