Job Description:

  • Develop and apply methods of mathematical physics and probability theory.
  • Study non-equilibrium phenomena in soft matter and biophysics.
  • Work on a collaborative project funded by the Volkswagen Stiftung & Ministry of Science and Culture of the German State of Lower Saxony.
  • Collaborate with the group of Oren Raz at the Weizmann Institute, Israel.

Your Profile:

  • Strong background and experience in statistical or mathematical physics, applied probability, and stochastic processes, and/or stochastic thermodynamics.
  • Hold or expect to complete soon a Masters or equivalent degree in the relevant field.

Position Details:

  • Participate as a PhD candidate in available programs, initially with three years of funding, in collaboration with the University of Göttingen.
  • Payment and benefits based on the German Public Service Payscale (TVöD Bund) guidelines.
