LocationETH Zurich, Zurich, Switzerland

Eligibility/Qualification

  • Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Plant Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in plant molecular mechanisms and cellular regulation.
  • Experience with molecular biology techniques and/or plant genetics.
  • Motivation to work independently while contributing to a collaborative research environment.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Experience in Arabidopsis, microscopy, or omics approaches is an advantage but not required.

Description

This project aims to investigate how microbial elicitors trigger specific metabolic adjustments in guard cells, influencing ion fluxes and osmotic regulation during stomatal closure. The long-term goal is to identify metabolic control points to strengthen natural plant defenses and reduce pathogen entry in leafy vegetables. The successful candidate will work in a supportive research environment and gain access to cutting-edge facilities.

How to Apply

Interested candidates should submit the following documents through the online application portal:

  1. Motivation letter
  2. CV
  3. Academic transcripts
  4. At least 2 reference letters

Note: Applications via email or postal services will not be considered.
