Eligibility / Qualification

Applicants should have:

  • An MSc degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Experience with electrochemical techniques.
  • An interest/background in electrochemistry, analytical chemistry, biosensors, biochemistry, or related research areas.

Job Description / Research Work

The selected PhD student will work on the development and investigation of aptamer-based electrochemical sensors.

Key activities will include:

  1. Examining model aptamer-based sensors.
  2. Studying how sensor preparation conditions influence sensor performance.
  3. Using automated equipment to investigate aptamer self-assembled monolayer (SAM) formation.
  4. Applying impedimetric techniques to characterize aptamer-based sensors.
  5. Using dynamic electrochemical methods to obtain detailed information about sensor properties.
  6. Contributing to research aimed at improving the reliability and performance of aptamer-based sensors for potential early disease diagnosis.
  7. Participating in research training, lectures and potentially scientific travel.
