PhD Students and Postdoctoral Fellows: We are seeking motivated PhD students and postdoctoral fellows to join our research group at the University of Ottawa, Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology & Immunology, Faculty of Medicine. Our projects focus on understanding the communication between muscle stem cells and their surrounding niche environment, and how changes in this environment during aging and disease affect their regenerative potential. We employ cutting-edge techniques such as scRNA-Seq, ATAC-Seq, mass spectrometry-based proteomics, muscle stem cell transplantation models, and high-throughput computational methods to unravel the interactions between muscle stem cells and niche cells during development, disease, and aging.
