PhD Studentship: Advanced Materials: Queen’s University is inviting applications for a fully funded PhD position in Advanced Materials for Rechargeable Batteries under the supervision of Hoang Dang. Eligibility / Qualification

Education

  • MASc/MSc in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering/Science, or related fields
  • Background in electrochemistry, materials characterization, or nanomaterials

Research Experience

  • Work in functional materials is preferred
  • Knowledge of Li-ion battery materials is an advantage
  • Publications in reputable journals strengthen the application

Technical Skills

  • Experience with techniques like cyclic voltammetry, EIS, XPS, XRD, SEM
  • Hands-on exposure to electrode synthesis, Li-ion batteries, or flow-battery fabrication

Other Skills

  • Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills
  • Clear communication skills for technical and general audiences

The selected candidate will work on developing and characterizing advanced materials for next-generation rechargeable batteries.
