PhD Studentship at Trinity College: The Monaghan Research Group at Trinity College Dublin is offering a PhD Studentship focused on developing novel materials for immunomodulatory cardiac repair as part of the ERC Consolidator Grant PiezoMac project. This full-time position includes a stipend of €25,000 per annum and covers PhD registration fees. Candidates will be part of an interdisciplinary team working on cutting-edge biomedical research.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Primary degree in Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, or Biomedical Science.
  • Desirable: Experience in porous scaffold fabrication, cell culture, mechanical testing, advanced microscopy, PCR, immunohistochemistry, or other histological and imaging techniques.
  • Essential: Experience with statistical software (e.g., GraphPad Prism, R), qualitative/quantitative data analysis, and a strong interest in regenerative medicine.

Job Description:
The successful candidates will join a multidisciplinary team at Trinity College Dublin to develop materials-based approaches to modulate injury-related inflammation in cardiac tissue. The role involves hands-on research in biomaterials, stem cell biology, and cardiac disease models, contributing to transformative biomedical advancements.
