PhD Studentship in Computer Science: Incentivizing Participation in Privacy-Enhancing Technologies

Eligibility/Qualification: Candidates are required to hold or expect to gain a minimum 2:1 Honours degree or international equivalent in a relevant subject to the proposed PhD project. A master’s qualification in a relevant subject area will be highly advantageous. The scholarship covers fees at the home rate for UK and EU applicants with pre-settled/settled status and who meet the residency criteria. International applicants are welcome but will need to cover the difference between home and international fees. Proficiency in English with an IELTS score of 6.5 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in all sub-skills is required for international applicants, who may also need an ATAS clearance certificate prior to obtaining their visa.
Job Description: The successful candidate will work on developing innovative privacy-enhancing technologies that incentivize participants to share sensitive data by fairly rewarding them. This project also aims to ensure the security and resilience of these technologies even in scenarios where adversaries compromise some of the parties involved.
