Fully-Funded PhD Studentship Opportunity in Sustainable Product Life Cycle and Hazardous Materials Avoidance for Electric Motors and Gears

Designation: PhD Researcher

Research Area: Sustainable product life cycle, avoidance of hazardous materials, energy efficiency in electric motors and gears

Location: Bournemouth University, Talbot Campus

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Outstanding academic potential, typically demonstrated by a First-Class Honours degree or equivalent GPA, or a Master’s degree with distinction
  • For non-native English speakers, a minimum IELTS Academic score of 6.5 with at least 6.0 in each component, or equivalent

Job Description: The successful candidate will work under the guidance of BU’s Professor Zulfiqar Khan to research and propose innovative solutions in adapting design, materials, and manufacturing processes of electric motors and gears towards sustainability. This involves investigating the optimization of system interactions, the replacement of hazardous materials, and the implementation of RoSH and REACH regulatory standards.
