Eligibility/Qualification
- A minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in Microbiology, Microbiome Science, or a related discipline.
- Prior experience with anaerobic microbiology techniques is preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Applicants for whom English is not the first language must demonstrate English proficiency as per UCC requirements.
Job Description
The successful candidate will:
- Conduct a specified research program under the supervision of Professor Aonghus Lavelle.
- Utilize various techniques including metagenomics, metabolomics, and anaerobic isolation protocols.
- Engage in interdisciplinary collaborations with teams in APC Microbiome Ireland.
- Disseminate research findings through conferences and scientific publications.
- Participate in postgraduate training and Educational and Public Engagement (EPE) activities.
- Occasionally supervise Bachelor or Master students in the laboratory.
