Summary
This PhD studentship at the University of Warwick focuses on developing advanced terahertz spectroscopy methods to enable the scalable manufacturing of next-generation solid-state batteries. The project aims to overcome challenges in controlling and optimising the microstructure of solid-state electrolytes, which are crucial for enhanced thermal stability, reduced flammability, and higher energy density in batteries. The research will involve fabricating and characterising electrolyte materials, developing measurement techniques for product-scale electrolytes, and integrating thermal control to establish a unified framework connecting microstructure and transport mechanisms. This interdisciplinary project offers a direct contribution to innovations in solid-state battery manufacturing and quality control, in collaboration with LiNa Energy.
