PhD Studentships in Virology and Immunology: The Institute of Medical Virology is offering three fully-funded PhD studentships for 2025. Eligibility/Qualification:
- Master’s degree (recent or soon to be awarded) in Life Sciences (e.g., Molecular Biology, Virology, Immunology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedicine).
- Previous relevant research experience in Life Sciences.
- Motivation and commitment to advancing molecular virology and immunology research.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Job Description:
Successful candidates will join one of the following research groups:
- Prof. Alexandra Trkola — Focus: HIV immunology and vaccine design.
- Prof. Silke Stertz — Focus: Molecular biology of influenza viruses and respiratory virus transmission.
- Prof. Benjamin G. Hale — Focus: Molecular biology of the interferon system in health and disease.
Each student will develop and contribute to a high-impact research project in one of these areas. Students will have access to state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, technical training, and supervision within a dynamic and internationally recognized research environment.
What We Offer:
- Fully-funded positions with an annual salary of CHF 47,040 – CHF 55,000.
