Poetsch group: Postdoctoral Researcher: Join a collaborative research project between the TU Dresden and CASUS to design the next generation of genomic algorithms for DNA analysis. We are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher (f/m/d) with expertise in Deep Learning Language Models of DNA to join our diverse team.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related field
  • Expertise in Deep Learning Language Models of DNA
  • Excellent programming skills in Python or similar languages
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and teamwork skills

Job Description:

As a Postdoctoral Researcher in Deep Learning Language Models of DNA, you will:

  • Develop and implement deep learning algorithms for DNA analysis using transformer-based models
  • Train task-agnostic language models to extract language rules and biological meaning from DNA sequences
  • Analyze the stability of genomes and identify the factors that contribute to genome stability
  • Collaborate with the team of Anna Poetsch at the Biotechnology Center of the TU Dresden and CASUS in Görlitz to achieve research goals
  • Publish research results in high-impact scientific journals
