Positions in Quantum Information Theory: We are offering a full postdoctoral position and a PhD position in quantum information theory, with a focus on quantum simulation and computing. These roles provide the opportunity to work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment on cutting-edge research topics, including computational and Hamiltonian complexity, quantum computational models, and quantum-assisted machine learning.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Postdoctoral Position:
  • PhD in a related field (quantum information theory, theoretical physics, mathematics, or computer science).
  • Experience in one or more areas of quantum information theory, quantum simulation, or computational complexity.
  • PhD Position:
  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in physics, mathematics, or computer science.
  • Strong interest in quantum information theory and computational models.

Job Description:

  • Engage in theoretical research on quantum information, including topics like:
  • Computational and Hamiltonian complexity
  • Quantum simulation schemes
  • Near-term quantum computing
  • Randomness, unitary designs, and random circuits
  • Quantum-assisted machine learning
  • Opportunities for academic freedom to pursue other research topics of interest.
  • The position is funded by an ERC Advanced Grant, with links to the German quantum hardware programme.
  • Postdoctoral position duration: Three to five years
  • PhD position duration: Three years
