Description:

Positions (PhD, Postdoc) in Insect Developmental Genetics and Molecular Evolution

The Panfilio Lab invites applications for a PhD studentship and a postdoctoral position, starting from early 2024. Explore gene expression and function in insect embryos with a focus on molecular biology and developmental genetics. Work on the lifetime tissue biology of extraembryonic tissues, encompassing cell and genome structure, tissue morphogenesis, physiology, and evolutionary gene function changes. Dive into eco-evo-devo dynamics across the insect life cycle.

Eligibility:

  • PhD Candidates: Must hold a master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Postdoctoral Candidates: Require a Ph.D. degree and at least one first-author publication in a relevant field. Candidates with backgrounds in cell and developmental biology or evolutionary developmental biology are encouraged.

Required Documents: Interested applicants should submit a single PDF containing the following:

  1. Statement of research interests, including what you would bring to the position.
  2. Curriculum Vitae (CV).
  3. Contact details for at least two references.
