Post-doc Computational Fluid Dynamic: Wageningen University’s Horticulture and Product Physiology group is seeking a Postdoc Researcher for a NWO project titled “Beyond the boundary: smart air circulation strategies for improved light and energy use efficiency in controlled environment agriculture.” The role focuses on using computational fluid dynamic (CFD) modeling to enhance understanding of air circulation’s impact on plant physiology in controlled environmental agriculture.

Location: Wageningen, Netherlands

Eligibility/Qualification: The ideal candidate holds a Ph.D. in fluid mechanics, applied mathematics, physics, or related fields, with expertise in fluid mechanics and publications. Proficiency in CFD simulation software (e.g., Ansys Fluent), programming skills (C++, Python), and experience with Lattice-Boltzmann methods are preferred. Strong communication skills and English proficiency (C1 level) are essential.

The postdoc will contribute to the NWO project by developing CFD models focused on smart air circulation strategies to improve light and energy use efficiency in controlled agriculture. The role involves collaboration with other researchers, including experimental approaches for model development and validation. The objective is to enhance microclimate, positively impacting plant growth and development.
