The specific research project is focused on pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), particularly targeting the origin of chromosome fusion.

Eligibility/Qualification

Candidates must meet the requirements for a post-doctoral appointment as per art. 22 bis of Law no. 240 of 30.12.2010 and related University Regulations.

Job Description

The selected candidate will be responsible for research activities related to the TORCH project, with the following objectives:

  • Analysis of ALL cell lines with recurrent translocations to generate expression profiles comparing fusion-positive (fusionALL “On”) and fusion-negative (fusionALL “Off”) samples.
  • Integration of data with essentiality scores from the Dependency Map (DepMap) to identify differentially expressed and essential genes in rearranged (ALL-R) versus non-rearranged ALL.
  • Gene expression-based High Throughput Screening to identify a shared dependency signature across chromosome translocated ALL subtypes and to screen drug compounds that disrupt this signature.
  • CRISPR-CAS9 KO screen for loss-of-function studies.
  • In vivo studies with candidate hits to determine their efficacy on patient-derived leukemia xenografts (PDLX).

The Research Supervisor for this project is Prof. Giovanni ROTI.
