Post Doc- Quantum-Cascade Transceiver: The Paul-Drude-Institut für Festkörperelektronik (PDI) is seeking a Post Doctoral candidate to join a collaborative effort focused on the development of micro-integrated quantum-cascade transceivers for high-resolution spectroscopy and space applications, within the priority program INtegrated TERahErtz sySTems Enabling Novel Functionality (INTEREST). Post Doc (m/f/d) – Integrated Terahertz Quantum-Cascade Transceiver for High-Resolution Spectroscopy and Space Applications (iQCT)

Designation: Post Doctoral Researcher

Research Area:
The position involves the development of quantum-cascade laser and detector structures, optimization of resonator structures, and contribution to the understanding of physical processes in the active media, with a focus on high-resolution spectroscopy and space applications.

Location: Berlin, Germany

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in experimental physics
  • Background in semiconductor physics
  • Expertise in at least one of the following scientific fields: quantum transport in nanostructures, semiconductor technology, or THz spectroscopy
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team

Job Description:
The successful candidate will be involved in the development and experimental investigation of quantum-cascade devices, with a specific emphasis on high-resolution spectroscopy and space applications. They will be part of a collaborative effort with the “Institute of Optical Sensor Systems” of the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR) and the Ferdinand Braun Institute, and will contribute to cutting-edge research in terahertz quantum-cascade transceivers.
