Eligibility/Qualification
- Educational Requirement: Ph.D. in Biology with a focus on Molecular Ecology or a related field.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience analyzing DNA sequence datasets for ecological community studies and publishing results in peer-reviewed journals.
- Skills:
- Solid bioinformatics expertise (e.g., metagenomics, comparative genomics, phylogenetic analysis).
- Proficiency in R statistical software and multivariate analysis tools like FunGuild and FungalTraits.
- Fluency in Swedish and English, with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Other Requirements:
- A valid driver’s license for fieldwork.
- Postdoctoral candidates should have earned their doctoral degree within the last three years.
Job Description
The successful candidate will:
- Conduct fieldwork and plant disease diagnostics.
- Analyze high-throughput sequencing (DNA barcoding and metabarcoding) datasets to explore the diversity, relatedness, abundances, and interactions of fungal and oomycete communities.
- Lead all aspects of the analysis and independently coordinate practical work.
- Write scientific publications in collaboration with the project team.
- Teach courses and provide field training to practitioners (in Swedish).
